This Year's Project: Equipment Acquisition & Expansion of Classes
About Our Organization
McCook Community Kitchen is a licensed kitchen and event space. We strive to bring community together through classes, food events, cultural celebrations, and nutrition education in collaboration with community partners. We promote a farm to table approach by highlighting local, seasonal products by regional farmers and ranchers and using their products as much as possible in events and classes. In addition, we provide a licensed kitchen for licensed cooks and chefs so they can prepare food items for sale, experiment with new recipes and develop concepts for new menus or businesses. We support events in the downtown corridor for caterers of community and private events. We are building out a calendar to offer private and public classes in food safety, meal and recipe preparation and nutrition.
Current Project: Equipment Acquisition & Expansion of Classes
As we continue to host classes, community gatherings and a licensed space for chefs, we will add equipment and upgrade our kitchen space to include a dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer space, warm holding boxes, a produce sink, a stand mixer and cooking utensils. We will expand our class offerings and develop education related to health and nutrition offered at low to no cost to our community.
