This Year's Project: Add Several Big Screen Smart TVs for Teaching
About Our Organization
A 501c(3) non-profit we are dedicated to supporting ALL forms of arts and education for artists. Membership includes art teachers/instructors, and many area talented individual artist that generously provide time for classes and workshops. BEGINNERS are WELCOME to join us.
The Guild was birthed in the 1960's, purchased the building at 209 Norris in 2011 and remains a mainstay of the community today. Prospective new artists come for educational lessons such as drawing, sculpture, pottery, as well as painting with water colors, oils and on china and are WELCOME to display their work.
Students thru college and adults are encouraged in contests thru the year. Summer art camps are held for elementary to high school ages. YOU could be our featured "Artist of the Month" showcasing your work in the vault.
Monthly contests move pieces on to other exhibitions and competitions. We are the 3rd largest art club in the State. The group known as ANAC was also birthed right here in McCook.
Upcoming workshops/classes include Basic Art, Color Spectrums, Drawing, Painting, Stained Glass, Fused Glass, Paint and Pour, Parents and Child paint parties and Photography.
Our Grandview gallery upstairs is completed and available for events, showings, classes, workshops or rented for graduations, receptions, social club gatherings, etc. We invite area Southwest artists to bring their art work for sale and display in this Grandview Gallery.
Thanks to the great folks of Southwest Nebraska the McCook Art Guild remains active and very much alive TODAY.
Current Project: Add Several Big Screen Smart TVs for Teaching
We are looking to add 3 new Big Screen Smart TVs to the Art Guild to replace outdated technology like projectors and screens.
They will be strategically placed in the main floor back classroom area, the main floor front gallery and the upstairs Grandview gallery.
They will provide both Google technology as well as channels of art education in the back class room area as well as the upstairs Grandview gallery.
The main floor front gallery big screen smart tv will provide sight to the upstairs art work as well as current advertising for the current events taking place at the Guild such as meetings, current classes and shows that are currently open to participate in.
View the pictures below to tour the newly renovated guild.
We THANK YOU in advance for helping us meet our need to better serve the Southwest Nebraska area.
PLEASE donate to the 2022 BIG GIVE thru any of these options:

Networking with those in Need
Project Wrap Up
As you can see from the pictures below the back room renovation has been a huge success so far with newly painted floor, walls, etc. Tables refreshed. Have started many new classes in this area from small to large in size.
The Art Guild has many new members with classes involving children, jewelry, photography, pottery, stained glass and ladies Wednesdays.
We still need to get a little more heating provided in that area but a few specific space heaters should help complete this project.
Thanks everyone who have donated to this project and our Upstairs Grandview Gallery which now completes the 2nd story renovation to which an Open House just recently was held.
As 2020 brought Covid our door remained open. Unfortunately ALL of our contests and kid's camps were cancelled.
With things opening up in 2021, we are reaching out to many organizations as they have shown a need that only we can help fill.
We are providing our building, kilns and instructors to assist in networking with groups like Homeschoolers, the YMCA after school program, SWATS, Respite Care, as well as aiding local school groups interested in having art clubs or groups outside the school setting. We also remain devoted for an entire month to our own Summer Art Camps for students from elementary, junior and senior high ages.
It's a great cause and your help in planting a seed in our YOUTH is priceless. YOUR monetary support will help provide the supplies, instructors and any other item needed to make this a huge success for our community. The project has already started !
Thank you in advance for helping us help others that have a hidden talent !
Finishing the Upstairs and Replacing our Front Main Street Window
Funds donated this year will help us to run the duct work for heat and air in the upstairs. Also to complete our special lighting project for the upstairs to make it usable not only for art work but other artistic activities that will be scheduled in 2021.
Our downstairs front main street window is in need of replacement. A new window will help benefit temperature control on the main floor also.
If you enjoy and annually drive Santa Claus Lane, it is not too late to show your appreciation for the 2,000 + hours that the guild members put into this project. Many pieces were even rebuilt due to the weather conditions that occur at the bases of the pieces, besides the reflective painting and other things done to spruce up all the pieces that everyone enjoys duing the Christmas season.
If you wish to donate from home feel free to donate to us thru Paypal using our email address which is: email@example.com or checks can be sent to: 209 Norris, McCook, NE
Better yet we invite you to drop by the Art Guild the day of Big Give November 5, 2020 and donate in person from 10-4 pm.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT TO THE ART GUILD AS WELL AS MAINTAINING MAIN STREET FOR THE FUTURE ENJOYMENT OF THE COMMUNITY !
Finish the upstairs Gallery
Over the past several years we have been busy doubling our coverage area by reopening the upstairs gallery. We have finished the walls, drop ceiling and flooring. The electrical work is in place, however, we need to finish with the proper lighting fixtures and install heat and air so that this space can be used year round. We thank you in advance for your help with this project which again we think makes McCook a welcoming place for not only the community by surrounding area and local artists to continue their trade.
