Organization Profile

The Mid-Plains Community College (MPCC) Adult Education (AE) program is designed to improve basic skills for students whose abilities range from non-literate to pre-college level.  Development of reading, writing, and math skills are emphasized, as are life skills, citizenship prep, English as a Second Language (ESL), employability, and technology.  Students without a high school diploma also have the opportunity to prepare for the General Education Development (GED) exams in the four subject areas of language arts, social studies, science, and math.  In addition, under WIOA guidelines, the program is charged with providing workforce development for all students enrolled in the program.

Project Description

Big Give McCook funding will be spent on childcare provider wages for McCook, Imperial, and Broken Bow English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to ensure students can attend class without childcare expenses.  A portion will also be spent on McCook Community College (MCC) International student needs.
